Cochlear Implants
Have you noticed that you are not hearing as well with your hearing aids? Do you feel as though conversations are harder and harder? It may be that you need to come in for an audiolgical evaluation to determine if your hearing loss has decreased and/or if tests indicate you are not processing the clarity of words as well anymore.
After the evaluation is completed, Dr. Brooke Casey can then determine whether you may be a candidate for further testing for cochlear candidacy.
What is a cochlear implant you ask? Please watch the video to the left. It helps answer a lot of questions and you can turn on closed captioning if needed.
Bone Anchored Hearing Aid (BAHA)
Sometimes one’s hearing loss does not allow them to wear traditional hearing aids (ex. chronic draining from ears, malformations of the ear, single sided deafness, etc.). This is where the patient may be more of a candidate for a BAHA.
A BAHA allows the sound to be picked-up through the processor and then transmitted via vibrations to the bone.
